The quality and fit are good but the shorts really need to have belt loops or tie strings or something to adjust the waist area if it fits a little loose.
These bike shorts are the perfect combination of being tight where you want them but having a traditional fit in the seat. Still aerodynamic on the bike but with the ability to adjust them for a more traditional look off the bike. Home run!!
These shorts have a casual, maybe slightly technical style, and they perform flawlessly on the bike. I purchased with the intent of using them bikepacking, and I'll definitely use them for that purpose, but I find them much more than a niche piece of clothing. I've continued to reach for them more and more on everything short of group road rides (which I really don't do much of these days anymore, or I'd wear them there too!). Even in the hot and humid Appalachians of the Southeast, they are not too much in terms of heat factor, in fact I find them as or more comfortable then a single layer spandex short somehow. Both the shell and liner breathe well. The liberator liner was a bit tight at first, but loosened after a few rides and fit very well, spot on the recommendations for sizing that are given. I would highly recommend this combo. I snagged a pair of the uprising short as well, also excellent. I think I'd give a slight edge on fit to the detours. The cut is just a bit more polished. I'll definitely be adding more shorts to round out multiple kits. I would love to see a pant with same design concepts/features for cool/cold weather riding.
